As if Google’s brilliant range of Pixel phones weren’t already great value enough, Telstra has a Google Pixel 7 deal worth getting excited for.
As spotted by the bargain-hunting community over at Ozbargain, you can get $200 off the 128GB and 256GB models respectively if you have an active Telstra service. This brings the 128GB model down to $799, while the 256GB variant breaks the sub-$1,000 barrier at $929.
One positive about the Google Pixel 7 deal is that you can purchase the phone outright without needing any additional purchases or plan upgrades. However, if you’re not with Telstra, you’ll need to sign up for a plan in order to redeem the offer.
Bear in mind, the deal is only live until 30 January, so you don’t have long to act. It’s live via the online Telstra store now if you want to snap up a bargain. Just remember to click “Outright” under the “Choose how you’ll pay” section to automatically apply the discount.
Is the Google Pixel 7 deal worth getting?
Sub-$800 is great value considering how much the phone impressed us in our Google Pixel 7 review. Its sleek design, strong OLED display, and great overall improvements make it a worthwhile step up from the previous generation. Additionally, it has one of the best cameras among all phones, as verified by benchmarking website Dxomark. You also get to take advantage of cool Android 13 features like seamless cross-device functionality, and digital car key sharing.
While the Google Pixel 7 Pro is the company’s best current phone, it’s still full price: $500 more than Telstra’s active Google Pixel 7 deal, to be precise. Meanwhile, $799 makes the Pixel 7 only $50 more than the retail price of the previous generation’s budget entry, the Pixel 6a.
At a similar price, you could also consider the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, but the Google Pixel 7 offers stronger overall performance. In other words, if you’re on a Telstra plan, or want to switch over, the Google Pixel 7 deal is good value.
