Houston ChronicleHarris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said an off-duty sheriff’s deputy was shot at a nightclub early Monday.
The deputy was in critical condition, Gonzalez said, after shots were fired at Liquid Lounge, a nightclub in southwest Houston.

“Please keep our deputy in your prayers,” Gonzalez wrote in a social media post.
Details were scarce early Monday. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the off-duty deputy was working in a security capacity or just visiting the nightclub.
The Houston Police Department is investigating the shooting, Gonzalez said.
