Aside from reviews online, travelers who have been to Cancun can also attest to its hospitality staff being some of the warmest and friendliest in the world. From the concierge to the reception staff, bell boys to maids, each staff member you encounter during your stay will greet you with a warm, friendly smile and are truly willing to go the extra mile for you. Whilst there are the occasional news stories that highlight some of the more negative behaviors of hospitality staff in the city, such as items being stolen from travelers’ hotel rooms, such instances are a rare occurrence. We’re not the only ones who agree. The president of the Cancun, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres Hotel Association, Jesús Almaguer Salazar, also talked up his staff during the week, claiming that they had “better service because our people are much more professional and capable”. Whilst staffing issues may have a slightly detrimental effect on service this high season, you can pretty much guarantee that service will still be professional, capable – and always with a smile.
