The final day of the 2022 PNC Championship is setting up to be a good one as the cream has risen to the top after Round 1. Team Thomas leads the way after a stellar performance on Saturday saw them sign for a 15-under 57. Winners of this event in 2020, both Justin Thomas and his father, Mike, have returned with a vengeance in their third appearance together.
Playing alongside Team Woods in the first round, the two family friends from Florida will go at it again on Sunday as Tiger and Charlie Woods carded a round of 13-under 59 to become the Thomas’ closest pursuers. Joining Team Singh late in the day at the 13 under number, both Tiger and Charlie will need to rest and recover quickly as both were visibly distressed with foot and ankle injuries in Round 1.
Dubbing themselves “Team Ice Bath,” Tiger and Charlie will aim to improve on their runner-up performance from a year ago and leapfrog Team Thomas in the process. Slightly farther back, Bernhard Langer, Jordan Spieth and John Daly will all attempt to steer their team to the top of the leaderboard with a memorable final round at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club.
CBS Sports will be with you throughout the day on Sunday updating you with the latest highlights during the final round at the 2022 PNC Championship.

Potentially a three-horse race
There are three teams at the top now as Team Thomas, Team Daly and Team Singh are all at 20 under. They are three strokes clear of their nearest chasers. The Dalys are up ahead and 9 under through 11 holes. They will likely need to play their final seven holes perfectly to give something for the other teams to chase.

Team Thomas regains the lead
Playing their first four holes in 3 under, Team Thomas has reached 18 under, good for a one-stroke lead. Justin looks as sharp as can be and has continued his strong play throughout the winter. As a side note, he is currently 14-1 for the Tournament of Champions where he has dominated throughout his career. May be something to consider.

Three at the top
Team Thomas has been joined by Team Daly and Team Singh at 16 under. The defending champions will not go quietly into the night. Meanwhile Team Woods let an opportunity on No. 2 slide by as both Tiger and Charlie missed a birdie chance from roughly five feet. That can’t happen if they expect to mount a comeback.

Birdies flying early
Team Woods and Team Thomas trade birdies on the first as the lead remains two strokes. Tiger tossed in a nice wedge shot to roughly five feet and capitalized after Charlie missed his birdie putt. Up ahead, Team Singh also birdied the first to get to 14 under and remain two off the pace.

Here we go…
Team Woods and Team Thomas are about to kick off the final pairing of the day. Up ahead, Team Daly has gotten off to nice start and have reached 14 under to get within one of the Thomases. As it normally is with scrambles, whoever putts the best will likely win today. Regardless, it should be an enjoyable watch with Tiger, JT and their family members.
